Our Process
Every project moves through a deliberate sequence of structural planning, material development, fabrication, and finishing. Whether creating an original sculpture, executing a commission, or fabricating custom elements, each phase builds upon the integrity of the previous one.
Our process balances artistic expression with engineering discipline — ensuring work that is both compelling and enduring.
Armature & Structural Support
Every substantial sculptural form begins with structure. We design and fabricate internal steel armatures that establish stability, proportion, and load distribution. Foam or support materials are integrated to define mass and reduce unnecessary weight, creating a stable foundation for modeling.
Structural foresight at this stage prevents distortion, cracking, or long-term failure.
Clay & Stone Sculpting
With structure established, form takes shape. Clay modeling allows for refinement of gesture, surface, and proportion. For direct carving projects, stone is shaped with attention to grain, structural integrity, and environmental considerations.
This stage is where artistic intent is fully realized — balancing anatomy, abstraction, texture, and scale.
Mother Mold Making
Once the sculpture is finalized, a multi-part mother mold is created to preserve every surface detail. This process captures the original form for casting or reproduction while protecting the integrity of the model. Mold systems are engineered for accuracy, repeatability, and structural stability.
Precision here determines the fidelity of every future cast.
Plaster & Metal Casting
From mold to material, the form transitions into permanence. Plaster casts may be used for study, refinement, or interior display. For long-term durability, metal casting transforms the sculpture into bronze or other alloys through coordinated foundry processes.
Each casting is inspected, chased, and refined to maintain the integrity of the original form.
Steel Fabrication
Beyond sculpture, we design and fabricate structural and architectural steel components. This includes armatures, mounting systems, bases, and integrated structural supports. Fabrication work is executed with attention to load requirements, anchoring strategy, and long-term stability.
Form and structure operate together — never separately.
Jewelry & Hardware Fabrication
Smaller-scale fabrication demands the same precision as large works. We produce custom jewelry, sculptural hardware, and specialty components with attention to finish, durability, and tactile quality. Each piece reflects the same material understanding applied to large-scale sculpture.
Painting & Patination
Surface treatment defines the final character of a work. Metal patinas are chemically developed to achieve depth, tone, and protective layering. Painted finishes are applied with environmental considerations in mind, balancing aesthetic goals with durability.
Color and surface are never an afterthought — they are integral to the piece’s identity.
Gallery & Sculpture Installation
Installation is the final and critical stage. We coordinate transport, anchoring, structural integration, and on-site adjustments to ensure safety, compliance, and visual alignment. Environmental factors, viewer interaction, and long-term maintenance are considered prior to final placement.
A sculpture is not complete until it is securely and responsibly situated.
